The Masato Show: The Best Sushi and Sashimi Show On Earth!

Indulging on sushi and sashimi has gone to another level by seeing it being prepared live by a master sushi chef and it all happens only at Buddha Bar Manila. Known as "The Masato Show" held last July 5, this one of a kind display on how it is done with only the finest ingredients and the best chef for the job. The Masato Show ran for a limited one-night only run from 7 to 10 PM for a very friendly price of P1,000.00 that also includes a serving of tuna sashimi and sushi dishes paired with wine, sake, and Japanese beer.

Before he became a Sushi master and the resident Sushi chef of Buddha-Bar Paris, Masato Nakabayashi's extraordinary journey began at a small oceanside town in Japan. He soon moved to Utah in the US to learn the fine art of sushi making at a longtime friend’s traditional Japanese restaurant. After a decade of honing his skills, Masato achieved fame as a Sushi expert known for his uncanny ability to surprise the most discerning of diners and for his exuberant creativity.

Masato was then appointed to create the menu of the Little Buddha Café that was about to be opened in the Palms Casino Resort in 2001. There was no looking back from thereon as Masato’s inventive creations and unconventional style sealed his reputation as one of the best Sushi Chefs in the world, now recognized as Buddha-Bar style. Currently working at the Buddha-Bar Paris main headquarters, Masato spends most of his time developing exciting and unexpected recipes and training new sushi chefs for Buddha-Bar outlets worldwide.

Since it is a sushi exhibition, the only things that are needed are really simple, a lot of fish, rice, and set of knives to make those precise cuts and carvings. Chef Masato dazzles the crowd with his skills on making pieces of art which are both fresh and delicious.

Buddha-Bar Manila would like to thank the following sponsors for making The Masato Show possible: Best Western Plus Antel Hotel, Manny-O Wines, Saporro Japanese Beer, Gekkeikan Sake, Choya Umeshu, Philippine Wine Merchants, Devant, WhenInManila.Com, and Zomato.
