BLAH BLAH BLOGS:The Internet and Netizens Deserves Fair Journalism

The Internet is place where vast inforamtion can be sent in lightning speeds and reaches out to hundreds to millions of people not only locally but worldwide. Its is crucial for journalists and bloggers that facts are made clear so it won't cause damage to the people being involved. I, as a blogger know that fact and has always check on my sources to make sure that what I write is indeed true and never to sensationalize the topic.


But the world wide web is filled with so many inaccurate and irreleveant information that confuses the public. Filtering these is hard and sometimes. biased. Thus the responsibility of keeping news reliable is indeed a MUST for everyone who writes and shares information.  I have come across an article about Black PR, Sensational Journalism  and Propaganda in Social Media talking about these things with facts, references and links.

We must realize at this age, Kingdoms and countries can fall with just an article and influence. Also inocent people can also get caught in a news riot. Take for instance the case of artcle posted on the newspaper regarding the Davao incident. 


And bloggers can relate to the Big Bad Blogger issue that has been the talk of the Pinoy Blogosphere for weeks and even some months until it eventually died down, but were there actions taken? Were people prosecuted? For me it was a hype, then nothing follows. Also something called a Black PR is also on the loose to divert issues with another issue which causes more confusion. Take for instance the case of Lopez Group-DBP issue, in which politics played a major role in creating misleading articles and stories.


Though there can be incidents of wrong information published or broadcasted, we should be humble enough to correct these and apologize. This is where social media comes handy to carry out immidiate reactions and corrections with the article. But let's keep in mind that asking for an apology for a mistake does make one lesser person but a responsible one. 


Sharing news is a noble job to humanity but comes with a bomb that can do more damage than helping when not used properly.
