Noel Cabangon's Song is now a Children's Book!

We all know how Noel Cabangon has influenced a lot of Filipinos with his nationalistic and smooth songs that has become hits through the years and his crusade for a better Philippines. In his song "Ako'y Isang Mabutin Pilipino" which have been part of the inauguration of President Aquino. Now will continue its message of change beyond the song into a simple yet encouraging phrases with colorful illustrations by Jomike Tejido and published by Lampara Books. 


In the book launch held at National Bookstore New Glorietta, Noel Cabangon shared how the song and the book come to its conception. Being an observant, he saw a lot of things that many Filipinos took for granted just like throwing trash in the proper place and also crossing the street. He made the song to tell the people to change.

The book also contains Study Guides that will also help readers/storytellers how to impart the good values to the children. It's indeed a great gift to children to start them young with the right Filipino values. The book in now available in National Bookstores!

Noel Cabangon Launches "Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino" Book

Singer-songwriter-advocate Noel Cabangon enumerates how one becomes a good Filipino in the book "Ako'y Isang Mabutin Pilipino" (I Am A Good Filipino), produced by Lampara Books, based one Noel's hit song of the same title, also features the artworks of Jomike Tejido.

Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino became a significant  song during the last  elections as the song challenged Filipinos to choose fulfill their duties as good citizens of the country. The song  list the various good deeds and values that have to be cultivated in order to become a trully good Filipino.

It is timely that the book be launched now that we are about to elect, once again, a new set of public servants who will be instrumental in improving the welfare of the people.

As a recording artist, and a concert performer, Noel has released more than 10 albums and performed all over the world - France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Kenya, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Noel over the years, has established himself as a staunch supporter of various advocacies. In fact, he has recently named as a Peace Ambassador on the Peace Process. He also supports various organizations  that promote development and understanding in the society.

The beautiful words in Noel's song was perfectly captured, through images, by Jomike Tejido, an award winning illustrator-writer whose body of works include Si Dindo Pundido (Golden Book Award 2002) Ang Pambuhirang Sombrero and the Foldabots Toy Books, and Tagu-taguan (2010 Best Reads). He has also held exhibits in Manila and Singapore, where he established himself as one of the premiere artists specializing in acrylic painting on hand woven mats.

Jomike's artworks in the books comprise his seventh solo exhibition.

The book also includes the chords to the song Ako'y Isang Mabuting Pilipino.
