This March, 15 students have finally reached their goal of graduating this school year which belongs to the family who are part of NMPP (Nagkakaisang Mangagawa ng Pelikulang Pilipino) which is group of people who work for the movie industry. Senatoriable Miguel "Migz" Zubiri has been a loyal supporter for the people in the industry and is a fan of Pinoy movies.

Migz Zubiri shares that even on his term as senator, made this project in support to the people of NMPP where families are dependent on local movie projects.  Future projects Includes a planned housing project and more scholars under the project. He shares that he was able to get to know more about them through directors whom he have worked with like Joel Lamangan who is the president of the NMPP.

And in the presentation of the scholars recently, he is happy and optimistic that more people in the industry will become beneficiaries of projects that will be made if he would be elected as Senator. Migz Zubiri is also known for the environmental reforms such as Biofuel Law, The Magna Carta for Private School Teachers, and
Act Providing for a Magna Carta of Students to name a few.

The privileged scholars under the program are  Jennifer Manlutac, Joan Guevarra, Dave Gabad, Christine Joy Palorma, Dickson So, Vincent Nota, Rose Ann Riyos, Lara Bahian, John Christ Magcamit, Rolly Ruta, Sailit Toporcadillo, Pamela Jane Riego, Bryan Daguyo, Victor Paloma and Ramon Esperanza.

We were also able to chat with Migz Zubiri on his stand on current issues affecting the country right now:

Cybercrime Bill

"I am against the provisions of the Cybercrime Law, especially on Libel," Zubiri said " I believe there should be a law for those who upload information that will decremental to national security and also to curve the downloading of ilicit materials or videos or pictures that will destroy a person, yan OK ako dyan pero Freedom of Expression, we sould allow a more liberal stand on that issue "

Divorce Bill

"I am not in favor of the Divorce Bill, My parents have been married for 50 years, and I personally have see them fight  for 30 years, and if there was a Divorce Bill at that time, matagal na Divorce ang parents ko, but now my parents are so much with each other, they cannot live without each other" He shares " I don't want to have  creeping disfunctional families because of the OFWs, parents are leaving for abroad and their children are left with their Titos and Lolos, they are being abused and molested. And we don't want that to happen with Divorce."

RH Law

"Very difficult [stand], I'm not for abortion but I am pro-condom. I am not i favor od the RH bill right now beacause I don't like the provision on age-appropriate [sex] education and I have a  daughter and I don't want her to learn about sex  education at ten years old," he explains "I think that should have left more to the  parents, or a little bit older. What we want to push is a age or a year in college or high school."

Gay Rights

"I'm against discrimination of all types, wether Religion, Cultural Identity, or Sexual Preference. They should be allowed to live their lives as normally as possible."

Personally, I did voted for him in the 2007 elections and have been very consistent with his platforms. And even if he resigned and only finished half of his term he was able to push a lot of bills in the Senate which makes him a worthy legislator. If he would be elected as Senator, we can expect more inspiring projects and
