Smart Padala brings Filipino families closer this Christmas with Pamaskong Padalow Promo

For Filipinos, Christmas is one of the most important occasions of the year. We make time for it -- come home from the city or abroad -- just to celebrate the holidays with our loved ones and families. Filipinos are so excited about it that we start feeling the Christmas spirit as early as September.

To make this important occasion more meaningful for Filipinos, Smart Padala, the leading remittance network in the Philippines with more than 15,000 centers nationwide, released a new promo as an early Christmas treat. Dubbed “Pamaskong Padalow”, the promo allows consumers to enjoy lower padala fees from September 30 to December 30, 2016.

With Pamaskong Padalow promo, breadwinners will be able to express their love to their families by sending the fruits of their hard work with even lower remittance rates wherever they are. In Luzon, the padala fee is now only P10 for transactions worth P500 and below. For transactions amounting to P501-P1,000, the fee is only P20. For transaction amounts P5,001 and above, the padala fee is determined by adding P10 for every additional P500 sent.

“Filipinos love to celebrate occasions as a family. For those who are far away from home, Smart Padala makes home feel closer by sending their hard-earned remittances to their loved ones in the most convenient, safe, and cost-efficient way. The Pamaskong Padalow promo is our early holiday treat to family heads and breadwinners for their hard work and dedication,” said Benjie Fernandez, co-COO at PayMaya Philippines, the leader in mobile money and payments, which offers Smart Padala as one of its key services.

PadaLapit Lang with Smart Padala!

Recently, Smart Padala launched a new campaign with Angel Locsin as it further strengthens its leadership in the remittance service industry. The new campaign aims to reinforce the brand message of Smart Padala, which is PadaLapit.

Based on data from the first National Baseline Survey on Financial Inclusion released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in 2015, it is estimated that on average, Filipinos take around 22 minutes to reach the nearest financial services touchpoint. It also costs an average of P43 for a roundtrip fare.

With 15,000 Smart Padala centers nationwide, there is a Smart Padala center in almost every municipality so Filipinos do not need to spend time and money to travel just to send or receive remittances. These centers include the recently launched Smart Padala International flagship stores that enable consumers to receive money from abroad.

Having a Smart Padala center is a good source of income entrepreneurs, and is extremely easy to set up. All they need to do is complete basic government requirements (permits), have a physical store and a minimum amount to be able to facilitate processing of remittances. Being a Smart Padala center allows microentrepreneurs to be a one-stop shop for all the remittance and payment necessities of their community, whether sending or receiving money, loading prepaid accounts, or paying bills.

"Smart Padala has touched the lives of millions of Filipinos by enabling individuals to extend a helping hand to their families so they can grow and celebrate milestones. Smart Padala is committed to shaping the remittance industry and leaving a long-lasting positive impact on communities by offering innovative services that are relevant to the needs of Filipinos," said Paolo Azzola, co-COO and Managing Director of PayMaya Philippines.
