Jodi Sta. Maria and Thirdy Lacson Are Now the New Endorsers Of Chowking's Chicken Lauriat

Chowking, the #1 Chinese QSR brand in the Philippines, welcomes Jodi Sta. Maria and her son, Thirdy, as the newest endorsers of the Mas Pinasarap na Chowking Chinese-Style Fried Chicken Lauriat. The mother and son duo were unveiled alongside the launch of the brand’s newest TVC in a press event held last April 20, 2023 at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila. 

The new and improved Chowking Chinese-Style Fried Chicken Lauriat still features an unbreakable combo of six Chowking favorites: Chinese Style Fried Chicken Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Buchi, Siomai, Chicharap, and Pancit Canton. However, in pursuit of new Chinese-sarap levels of flavor to keep Filipino taste buds wanting more, mas lalo pang pinasarap ang Bagong Chinese Style Fried Chicken and Pancit Canton.

Two best friends who are victims of the same circumstance will become bitter rivals as they fight for what they believe they rightfully own in the upcoming ABS-CBN TV series “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” which will be available outside the Philippines via TFC starting August 17.

The series features a grand ensemble of a cast led by Jodi Sta. Maria and Iza Calzado with Sam Milby and the Philippines’ Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.

Too intense' Clarita trailer rated "X" twice

Black Sheep takes a short break from releasing unique love stories as the less than one -year-old film outfit ventures into producing horror film 'Clarita."

Topbilled by Jodi Sta. Maria who plays 'Clarita' herself, the film, directed by Derick Cabrido, is slated for a nationwide run starting June 12.


Inspired by true events, the film centers on Clarita, a possessed woman who tests the faith of priests Salvador, played by Ricky Davao, and Benedicto, played by Arron Villaflor, as they
perform exorcism on her after learning that a group of doctors were killed by supernatural forces.

Meanwhile, a photojournalist investigates the truth about Clarita's possession and helps the two priests but in their journey to help her, they will encounter demonic obstacles that will prevent them from performing the exorcism.

A new morning soap just started today with "Sana Dalawa Ang Puso" starring Jodi Sta, Maria, Robin Padilla, and Richard Yap. This is quite a reunion for the Maya-Sir Chief love team plus the charm of Robin Padilla adding that "astig" factor to the new show.

Jodi stars as two characters here, Mona and Liza (get the reference?). They are on opposite ends of the social class yet they share the similar face. They clarified that they are not twins like the usual plot for double roles, or triple roles like the upcoming Blood Sisters also showing on ABS-CBN.

Sta. Maria is thrilled to be playing dual roles for the first time. “It was not an easy task for me, but at the same time I’m excited to do this”, she says about her role. “This is one of the most challenging roles I have ever done in my career”, the actress adds.

Jodi Sta. Maria to face life-changing decision in the Star Cinema film “Dear Other Self”

A woman in search of herself is the center of the story of the upcoming Star Cinema film “Dear Other Self,” which stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Joseph Marco, and Xian Lim, screening in key countries worldwide via TFC@theMovies starting May 25.

The film’s director Veronica Velasco shares that she and co-writer Jinky Laurel took inspiration from the former’s teenage daughter. “I noticed that because of the things they read on the internet, they become aware of different places around the world and they want to travel there”, she recalls. “These days, there is a concept of yolo or you only live once where some feel the need to leave everything behind and travel the world.  I was thinking, ‘what if that is the life she chose’, and thus ‘Dear Other Self’ was born.”

“Dear Other Self” tells the story of Becky (Sta. Maria), the breadwinner of the family who faces a life-changing decision in her life one day. One has her starting her day right, nailing a presentation, and getting promoted. The other has her waking up on the wrong side of the bed, flunking a presentation, and getting fired.
