John Legend’s new album, Bigger Love celebrates Black Culture and Pride

Multi-platinum artist John Legend is slated to drop his sixth studio album, Bigger Love on June 19 (Friday) via Columbia Records.

On a lengthy Instagram post, the Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT) winner reveals that Bigger Love was written and produced prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the #BlackLivesMatter protests happening around the world. According to him, the upcoming album is a “celebration of love, joy, sensuality, hope, and resilience” and an important showcase of what makes black culture so influential and empowering.

“It’s important for us to continue to show the world the fullness of what it is to be black and human,” John Legend takes pride. “Through our art, we are able to do that. I’m under no illusion that music can save the world or solve the world’s problems, but I’ve always turned to music to help me through tough times and I know many of you have done the same.”

John Legen Brings Darkness and Light Tour in Manila

10x Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter, John Legend will be returning to Manila for his highly anticipated Darkness And Light World Tour on March 21st, 2018 at the Araneta Coliseum.

John Legend’s latest album Darkness And Light has been a worldwide smash hit with the chart-topping singles “Love Me Now” and “Penthouse Floor” featuring Chance The Rapper. The album debuted on the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and was streamed over 12-million times in the first week.

Legend serves as one of the principles for Get Lifted Film Co., a film and television production company that serves as Executive Producers on the HBO documentary “Southern Rites”, Pop Network docu-series “Sing It On”, WGN America’s series “Underground”, and films such as “Southside With You” and the critically acclaimed “La La Land”. Legend was also featured in the film and soundtrack of La La Land with the single “Start A Fire” and in the blockbuster Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast” with Ariana Grande.

Dick clark productions announced that music superstar Miley Cyrus will take the stage at the “2017 Billboard Music Awards” to perform her highly-anticipated new single “Malibu,” for the first time to a worldwide television audience. An incredibly gifted singer-songwriter, known as much for her talent as for her unconventional style, Miley has continued to push the boundaries throughout her career. She's tallied 43 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, and is among only 15 women in the chart's history with at least 40 charted titles. In 2013, she earned her first No. 1: "Wrecking Ball." On the Billboard 200 albums, Cyrus has tallied five No. 1 albums, most recently with 2013's Bangerz. In total, she has sold nearly 15 million albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. The “2017 Billboard Music Awards” will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 22 at 8:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m. JKT/BKK) exclusive on RTL CBS Entertainment.

Fans can still vote online and on Twitter for Billboard Chart Achievement Award presented by Xfinity, and Top Social Artist. Voting for both categories will close one hour after the show starts.

Ariana Grande, John Legend to Perform "Beauty and the Beast" Theme Song

GRAMMY nominated and multi-platinum selling artist Ariana Grande and 10-time GRAMMY, Oscar®-winning and multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter/ musician John Legend are set to perform the Oscar and GRAMMY-winning duet “Beauty and the Beast” as the title track for Disney’s upcoming soundtrack to the live-action film adaptation “Beauty and the Beast.” The song will also be featured in the film.

The enchanting ballad, originally performed by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson featuring eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken’s beautiful melody and two-time Oscar-winner Howard Ashman’s unforgettable lyrics, received an Academy Award®, Golden Globe® and GRAMMY Award, among other accolades, upon its release in 1991.

The upcoming intense dance movie “Breaking Through,” went for a unique casting call that had John Legend (who serves as producer of the film) teamed up with Madonna’s DanceOn, a leading YouTube dance video network that serves as a source for undiscovered talent which was also founded by Guy Oseary, Allen DeBevoise and CEO  Amanda Taylor.  

John Legend, a multiple Emmy Award-winner also produced original music for “Breaking Through” and has pooled together the most talented dancers and choreographers in the movie.  Along with John Swetnam,  known for his breakthrough screenwriting work in “Step Up All In” that reached blockbuster status pens the movie’s screenplay and takes on the director’s chair.
