MLQU Surprises Top 8 Board Passer With 1 Million Pesos!

Passing the board exams is already a feat that many would celebrate with friends and family, and for one to top them makes it more special and exciting. But what if you also get a surprise from the school because of this achievement?

The Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) gave one (1) million cash reward to Mr. Archimedes Martinez as a token of recognition and appreciation for ranking Top 8 in the recent nationwide professional licensing exam for Civil Engineers at Success the MLQU Way event held at the Victoria Sports Tower Station 2, last June 6, 2017.

DepEd K to 12 Law on its 3rd year anniversary

The Department of Education (DepEd) enjoins the whole country in the observance of the 3rd year anniversary of the signing into law by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III, Republic Act No. 10533, An Act Enhancing the Philippine Education System by Strengthening Its Curriculum and Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education otherwise known as the K to 12 Law.

The K to 12 Program covers 13 years of basic education with the following stages: Kindergarten to Grade 3, Grades 4 to 6, Grade 7 to 10 (Junior High School) and Grades 11 to 12 (Senior High School). This is found to be the best period for learning under basic education.  It is also the recognized standard for students and professionals globally.

DepEd strengthens protection for children-at-risk and in conflict with the law

“Hindi pwedeng mawala ang Department of Educaton (DepEd) sa child protection. Tayo ang tulay sa reintegration ng mga children at risk at mga children in conflict with the law,” Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs Atty. Alberto Muyot said during the workshop on the guidelines and procedures on the management of children-at-risk and children in conflict with the law as detailed in DepEd Order No. 18, s. 2015.

PNoy signs K to 12 into law


MALACANANG - President Benigno S. Aquino III signed today the K to 12 law, a landmark piece of legislation that institutionalizes 12 years of basic education, making it responsive to global educational standards. The law – which introduces two additional years in secondary education and makes Kindergarten mandatory among 5-year olds – is expected to give graduates better choices in the field of work or further education.
