GMA Network announces 2012 second quarter line-up

Expect no less from GMA Network as it unveils a pioneering line up of groundbreaking programs primed to dominate the airwaves for the second quarter of 2012.

An innovative and fresh dose of primetime and afternoon prime soaps as well as reality, sitcoms, talk shows and talent searches accounts for the variety of entertainment programs that will not only take viewing satisfaction to greater heights but also create waves in the hearts of every Pinoy.

Eight months after the untimely death of her husband Anthony Lansingan, Camille Prats is now trying to recover from her husband’s demise.  Her husband died in September 2011 after suffering from nasopharyngeal cancer, a type of throat cancer affecting the upper section of the throat.


Masasabi ko po na I’m getting better now.  Kasi mas natatanggap ko na na wala na talaga siya, na hindi na siya babalik. Kasi nung mga first few months talagang ang iniisip ko baka naman bumalik pa. May ganun e.  Parang in denial pa ako. Ngayon natatanggap ko na na hindi na talaga siya  babalik.  But there are days na ‘pag naiisip ko siya ang sakit talaga,” she shared in an interview during the press launch of GMA-7’s newest primetime series Luna Blanca.

Two of GMA Network’s talented and lovable child superstars – Jillian Warde and Mona Louise Rey – are all set to captivate the hearts of Filipino viewers as they headline the upcoming drama series – LUNA BLANCA. 

This Kapuso offering, which is another supreme creation of the Entertainment TV Group, is the first primetime bet of the network for the second quarter of 2012. With an all-star cast and top-notch production values, Luna Blanca will premiere on May 21 replacing Biritera on GMA Telebabad. 

The network innovates once more with Luna Blanca which is considered to be the very first multi-generation drama on Philippine Television. This groundbreaking production will run for 3 generations with a different lineup of actors to topbill each generation’s tale. Jillian and Mona will lead the cast members of the Luna Blanca’s young generation and their characters in the second generation will be played by teen stars Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene. For the third generation, the adult characters of Luna and Blanca will be portrayed by Heart Evangelista and Bianca King, respectively. 

Bea Binene Belies Rumoured ‘Rift’ With Fellow Tweenstar Barbie Forteza


Bea Binene, the lead star of GMA’s afternoon fantasy series Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis, belied rumours that she and fellow “tweenstar” Barbie Forteza are not in good terms.  In fact, she said that they are “very good friends.”  

“Hindi ko nga alam kung saan nanggaling ‘yung mga issues na ‘yan na magkaaway kami ni Barbie or something.  Pero kami, we’re very very good friends.  We’re very OK, and sa set walang ilangan, walang something,” Bea said in an interview. 

Bea and Barbie are going to star as twins in GMA’s upcoming fantasy-drama series Luna Blanca, which according to the network’s press release is a sequel to Luna Mystika, a 2008 fantasy series starring Heart Evangelista. 

“Ako dito si Luna, kakambal ako ni Barbie at meron akong anino.  So ang character ko dito jolly, playful, mabait, masiyahin,” shared Bea.
