Richard Madden, Benedict Cumberbatch Lend Support to "1917"

Four of today’s most popular British actors are playing important supporting roles in Universal Pictures’ critically acclaimed and $100-million grossing war epic 1917.  They are Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Richard Madden (Game of Thrones), Mark Strong (Shazam!) and Andrew Scott (Spectre).

Nominated for ten Oscar Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, 1917 tells the story of two young British soldiers Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) as they are given a seemingly impossible task. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 of their fellow soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them. In this immersive cinematic experience, director Sam Mendes thrusts the audience into the immediate peril and vast scale of World War I, witnessing the conflict in an urgent and propulsive way.

SHAZAM! - A Marvelous And Fun Hero in the DC Universe

DC is getting on the right track with their latest movies like Aquaman which has reached more than $1 Billion in the box office. Now comes another DC character which is already getting ground with his humor and charm as seen in the trailers. Shazam! is potentially powerful as Aquaman in terms of anticipation and might do well in the cinemas as well.

Starring Zachary Levi, this champion also known as Captain Marvel of the DC universe comes in a great time where DC is now embracing their fun and adventurous plots rather than the deep and dark ones of the past. Given that the character in the comics also has a quirky side and an alter ego of a kid named Billy Batson played by Asher Angel.

It was a fun and interesting world to deal with as Shazam is powered by magic from mystics of the ancient world. His foes would also come from the same realm of mysticism which opens a new wave of possible heroes and villains that will also become part of the DC Universe. What we like most about the film is the development of the characters although comical at first, but eventually reveals as very pivotal for the whole story.

REEL DEAL: Kingsman The Secret Service REVIEW

Spy movies are back and one of the anticipated movies last year was the introduction of Kingsman The Secret Service which brings a new look to spies and how they are chosen and trained. Based from the graphic novel of Mark Millar, The Secret Service, the movie is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

This spy origin story is about Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, who is an unemployed man in a troubled family find himself with an offer from a colleague of his father to join the secret services different from the MI6 and other spy agencies. He then faces the hard obstacles of being the new Kingsman which involves life threatening tests and exercises.

Of course spy movies will never be complete with the sweet and amazing technology that has inspired a lot of us and even have became reality in the past years. Having a more detailed training story of the spy gives the human struggle before the spies became the men they are now.
