Baro't Saya Tuwa At Ligaya - First Solo Exhibit of Edgard San Diego

SM Megamall proudly presents the first solo art exhibit of noted fashion designer EDGAR SAN DIEGO titled ‘BARO’T SAYA TUWA AT LIGAYA’ from October 9 - 15, 2021 at the Ground Level, Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall. 

The theme of the exhibit is a ‘Tribute of Joy to the Filipina and her Traditional Dress amidst the Pandemic.’

Edgar’s love for the beautiful Filipina, traditions, costumes and production design is evident on his paintings, keeping in mind that the colors are bright and the subjects are happy in creating positive vibes which we need most in this pandemic. He chose to deal with beautiful characters in their colorful costumes and nostalgic scenarios.

Why this crossover from fashion design to visual arts ?

“I turned 60 last March 13, 2020. And then after 2 days, the lockdown was imposed. I thought that it was only going to last for a month or two. So to keep me away from boredom, I cleaned the house, reorganized my cabinets and do things that I neglected when I was busy with my dress shop. However, when I ran out of things to fix, I decided to pick up my brushes and called my canvas supplier. Luckily, she was open all the time to accept my orders. What I did was to order an extra 4 to 6 canvases which eventually gave me no excuse to stop.”

Chan Lim Exhibit Reveals Painting Which Took 35 Years!

The Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students has been going around the country in SM Malls to set up exhibits of their artworks which features chinese brush painting in different mediums like scrolls, plates, and fans. Now for this upcoming year of the dog, they also made another milestone for them, the revelation of the finished family painting which took 35 years in the making.

The family and their students makes a great impression with their exhibits all over the country. With generations of artistry passed from their patriarch to the grandchildren. From the traditional paint brush, the younger generation is expanding their artistic repertoire with digital media and audio-visual creations.

Global phenomenon One Direction pop-up store “1D World” opens in the Philippines!

Just in time for the most awaited two-night concert in 2015, Music Management International (MMI) Live unveils the Philippine debut of the 1D WORLD pop-up store at the 5th Level, Mega Fashion Hall of the SM Megamall on December 20, 2014.

Originally, opening of 1D World store was scheduled on Dec 16 but due to persistent 1D Filipino fans request to open on a weekend, unveiling will happen on Dec. 20, Saturday from 11:00 am onwards.

The 1D World pop-up stores have opened in cities all over the world, offering everything fans of Louis, Niall, Liam, Zayn and Harry could ever want. The store will carry all kinds of imported One Direction merchandise such as T-shirts, posters, phone cases, caps, calendars, life-size cardboard stand-ups of all band members and other exciting exclusive products.
