Pru Life UK advances financial literacy for Filipino families with Cha-Ching Kid$ at Home webinar

Pru Life UK recently hosted the latest PRUWise webinar, entitled Cha-Ching Kid$ at Home: Financial Literacy Basics for Filipino Families. The expert-led and fun-filled webinar aimed to teach both parents and children the building blocks of a solid financial future.

The webinar was hosted by children’s show TV personality Tonipet Gaba and Pru Life UK’s Mary Jane Pangan. It featured education and finance experts Dr. Queena Lee-Chua and Dr. Mary Joy Abaquin, who shared their insights on how parents can raise money-smart children at home. Almost 700 parents and children from around and beyond the Philippines joined the virtual event.

Pru Life UK lauds Filipino cyclists in the inaugural My Prudential RideLondon

Pru Life UK lauds the Filipino cyclists who joined the inaugural My Prudential RideLondon – the virtual edition of the world’s biggest cycling festival. The event attracted thousands of professional and recreational cyclists from 70 countries across the world for a celebration promoting cycling as a fun fitness activity.

Due to the pandemic, Prudential RideLondon shifted online this year and was powered by an app to make the experience more immersive. Over the course of nine days of cycling in their home countries, riders travelled a total of 212,043 kilometers – equivalent to circling the globe five times.

British life insurer Pru Life UK, a subsidiary of international finance services group Prudential plc, was conferred the Patron of Literature Award by the Philippines Graphic for being an advocate of Philippine literature through the Nick Joaquin Literary Awards (NJLA). 

Pru Life UK co-presented the NJLA for six consecutive years in line with the Company’s advocacy to promote literacy and education in the country, helping lay strong foundations for Filipinos to realize their full potential.

Garnering an Award of Excellence for Communication Management – Customer Relations is “The 20th Anniversary Customer Engagement Campaign”, which was also a Top Awardee nominee.

Pru Life UK supports Brigada Eskwela 2017

In time for the opening of classes, Pru Life UK has once again called its employees into action to help with the maintenance and beautification of Upper Bicutan Elementary School in Taguig.  This is in support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) 2017 Brigada Eskwela.

Already on its sixth straight year, Pru Life UK initiated half-day volunteer activities for four days, which involved the general cleaning of classrooms, as well as the sanding and varnishing of students’ armchairs. Considered as the bayanihan for schools, Brigada Eskwela is a yearly program that fosters volunteerism among government agencies and non-government organizations to clean and prepare public schools across the country.

Pru Life UK supports Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko anew

In staying true to its commitment to promote road and traffic safety, British life insurer Pru Life UK is once again extending its support to the annual Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko (SMSK) initiative, through the SAFE STEPS Road Safety programme by its regional community investment arm, Prudence Foundation.

Now on its sixth year, SMSK is a year-long motorist assistance campaign spearheaded by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, which aims to systematically enhance traffic management and toll collection services at the North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and Manila-Cavite Expressway during peak travel seasons. Traffic volume in the expressways is expected to increase by up to 15 to 20% from 300,000 vehicles daily during these holidays.

British life insurer Pru Life UK, a subsidiary of international financial services group Prudential plc, advocated safe cycling through its first cycling event, PRUride to London. The event held on November 12, 2016 at McKinley West and Uptown Bonifacio in Taguig City underscores Pru Life UK’s thrust of making life better for Filipinos.

Almost 1,000 amateur and seasoned cyclists competed in the different categories of the first ever criterium race at the McKinley West. A blockbuster among race enthusiasts, the slots were filled out within the first two hours of opening the registration. Another thousand –composed of families and friends– attended the bike community day in Uptown Bonifacio and enjoyed various exciting cycling activities such as ramp and cone courses, carless bike lanes, assembling and disassembling a tire, and photo booths.

Manila – As the nation prepares for the ‘Fight of the Century’ between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., life insurance giant Pru Life UK is saluting every Filipino fighter by bringing the world title fight live to many who have never before had such an opportunity, particularly those who are still recovering from typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan). 

Pru Life UK is working with 10 communities in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Quezon, Albay, Aklan, and Northern Samar, as well as Bantayan Island in Cebu to bring live coverage of the match on May 3rd. On Bantayan Island, the match will be aired in three municipalities of Santa Fe, Madridejos, and Bantayan.
